12th day of February 1851 Dear diary, Today, I am going to be a rich man. I went out in search for gold with my companion, John Lister. I washed six pans of earth down at Lewis Ponds Creek and found five of them with specks of gold. I couldn’t restrain myself to shout out “Eureka!” Although it was an extremely hot day, my hard work paid off. What also has paid off is my gold search in California, I learnt lots of panning techniques there. Once I [[Abie Angelo!!#|give]] in my claim, I think I will receive even [[Abie Angelo!!#|more money]] than the [[Abie Angelo!!#|reward]] of £10,000 I got for being Crown Commissioner of the Goldfields. Well, maybe a bit less than that. Despite of how big or little my find was, I am very happy of it and I can already see the vision of my fame.
